Therapeutic Riding
Therapeutic riding is our largest program – offered to individuals who have challenges associated with a physical, cognitive or social-emotional disability. The program combines traditional riding instruction with specialized work tailored to each rider’s skills and needs. Students in our therapeutic riding program build confidence and independence as they develop mastery of different riding skills at their own pace.
Lessons are structured to provide students with educational and hands-on opportunities to promote the development of horsemanship skills such as basic horse care and riding skills. Specific mounted activities during these lessons may consist of playing games, engaging in structured stretching and exercises tailored to each student’s needs, as well as practicing independent riding.
Therapeutic riding lessons are offered Monday through Saturday throughout the year in 5-week increments. Lessons can either be 30-minute private, 45-minute semi-private, or 60-minute groups.
