2024 Appeal: Where The Possibilities Are Endless
Meet Mac - a testament to the profound impact our programs can have. Mac has a diagnosis of KBG Syndrome, and when he first came to Special Equestrians in 2018 he was struggling with motor delays, communication skills and attention. Mac’s physical therapist advised his mom, Kathy, to find something for Mac that involved motivating activities. With his known love for animals, Kathy turned to Special Equestrians. Through consistent weekly lessons with his instructor, Dana, Mac’s team has seen remarkable changes. Dana explains, “I’ve seen the most improvement with following directions and taking turns when speaking. Mac is appropriately engaging with us and is more confident in his interactions.”
It’s truly heartwarming to watch him succeed—not just in his riding skills, but in his ability to communicate and connect with others. “My favorite part is knowing that they are seeing what I’m doing and that they are amazed.” Mac shared. “And we are amazed,” adds Mac’s mom, Kathy. “We’re so happy to see how much joy he has when he’s riding. His progress is amazing with what he’s able to do when he’s on a horse.”
Whether it’s a rider experiencing the joy of independent movement for the first time, or a child finding confidence through new social connections, the success stories at Special Equestrians are endless.
As we look to the future, we hope you will join us in supporting this life-changing work. Your donation, no matter the size, helps create more opportunities for children and adults like Mac to experience the healing power of horses through equine-assisted activities and therapies.
Together, we can ensure that the joy, progress, and success we’ve seen this year continue for many more years to come.
With heartfelt gratitude,
With sincere thanks,
