Learning Differences and Special Education
For students with developmental and learning differences, Special Equestrians provides a multi-sensory equine-assisted learning program designed specifically for children with social, behavioral and cognitive challenges.
Sessions include mounted and unmounted activities designed to improve academics, develop team-building skills, and enhance social skills through increased social opportunities. Activities include therapeutic riding, basic horsemanship, horse and barn care and interactive games.
Special Equestrians tailors programming to each community partner’s population’s needs. We offer weekly, small-group sessions for several weeks, as well as one-day workshops. Current community partners include The Quaker School in Horsham, the life skills class at Lower Moreland High School, and select autism and life skills support classes in Central Bucks School District.
