Your gift to Special Equestrians supports the work we do at our therapeutic riding center and directly impacts the lives of our special needs riders. Please consider supporting our mission, a rider, a program or our horses. Donations can be made as an annual gift or in quarterly or monthly increments. Additionally, our Barn Wish List reflects the year-round necessities of everyday items needed for our horses, our riders, and their families.
2024 Appeal - Where The Possibilities Are Endless
Whether it’s a rider experiencing the joy of independent movement for the first time, or a child finding confidence through new social connections, the success stories at Special Equestrians are endless. Meet Mac - a testament to the profound impact our programs can have.
Our programs are driven by the awareness that every person learns differently – and with help from donors like you, we can continue to support riders like Mac, and children and adults of all abilities.
Make a Difference
For more than 40 years of Special Equestrians harnessing the healing power of horses to transform lives. We are so grateful for our horses, the riders we have served, the experiences we have had, and we can’t wait to see what the next 40 years brings.
Make A Donation
Your donation supports the day-to-day operations of Special Equestrians, allowing us to continue offering life-changing programming to individuals with disabilities and at-risk youth.
Support A Rider
Your Support a Rider donation allows us to offer our services to all who qualify. Individual riders receive a 50% discount on the actual lesson cost for therapeutic riding, while a donation designated to the Ann Irwin Scholarship Fund allows us to provide additional needs-based tuition subsidies to low-income families.
Support a Group
Your Support a Group donation supports individualized learning programs for the school and community organizations we partner with. We work with a variety of populations in need, including at-risk youth; individuals with special needs, mental health and/or substance use disorders; and families impacted by cancer.
Emergency Medical Fund
Support of our Emergency Medical Fund allows us to be prepared for when a horse gets injured or becomes ill. For instance, a two-night stay at an equine medical center for one of our newest horses, Nadine, who was in severe colic distress, cost us $2,400.
